Shake the Lake 2024

July 6-7, 2024 – Pistakee Lake, IL – The Boat House of Chicago proudly hosted the inaugural “Shake the Lake” event on July 6th and 7th, bringing together boating enthusiasts, families, and the local community for a weekend full of fun, music, and celebration on the beautiful Pistakee Lake. This event marked the beginning of what is set to become an annual tradition, celebrating the joys of boating and the strong sense of community that thrives around Pistakee Lake. 

The purpose of “Shake the Lake” was simple yet impactful: to offer our customers and the wider community a great event where they could come together to enjoy the summer, celebrate their love for boating, and create lasting memories with friends and family. Over two days, the event drew an impressive turnout, with over 100 boats joining in on the festivities on Saturday alone. 

Live Music and Festivities 

The event featured an exciting lineup of live musical performances that kept the energy high throughout the weekend. On Friday evening, the band Thrill Pill kicked off the festivities with an electrifying performance that set the tone for the entire weekend. Saturday was packed with music, beginning with Wire & Nail, whose upbeat tunes resonated with the crowd. The day continued with Sonic Sanctuary, who brought their signature sound to the stage, and concluded with Fast Times, a crowd favorite that had everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along. 

As the sun set on Saturday evening, the celebration culminated in a spectacular fireworks display over Pistakee Bay. The sky lit up in vibrant colors, reflecting off the water and creating a breathtaking sight that left attendees in awe. The fireworks were the perfect conclusion to a day filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit.
