How to Protect Your Boat From a Hurricane

Our friends over at GoBoatingFlorida shared this value-packed video of what to do with your boat(s) come hurricane season. Boat House team members Ana & Tim will walk you through it – take a peak – you don’t want to miss this!

Essential checklist for boats stored on lifts.

1. Remove covers.

2. Remove loose items in boat and attached to it.

3. Strap boat to lift with ratchet straps. At least one strap in the front and one on the back.

3. Remove drain plug.

4. Remove bimini top if you can.

5. Raise lift as high as it can go.

6. Tie all four corners of boat to pilings.

A quick side note for boats that are docked – make sure it is properly secured to pilings with extra fenders.
